VegTrip available in additional languages

In order to make the website more easily available for additional markets we have worked on partially translating some of the most visited pages of the site. For the moment we have translated the major navigational part of the site, while hotel content still remains in English.

We are now offering VegTrip in German, Swedish and Romanian with French, Italian and Spanish version to follow shortly.

A big Thank you to all our volunteering translators!

Vegetarian travelers are looking south this winter

It's easy to see from the statistics of November that winter is really starting to get a grip over the northern hemisphere, with exotic locations such as Thailand and Indonesia making it's way up to the most browsed hotels on VegTrip. The second Indonesian hotel to make the list, Sarinbuana Eco Lodge is a haven for nature lovers & for those who just need to escape from the madness of a busy life. Sarinbuana Eco Lodge is located at 700m on the slopes of Mount Batukaru in central Bali.

Vegetarian vacation in Poland?

With the addition of three new vegetarian accommodations in Poland, VegTrip now covers almost the entire Europe. We're very happy to be able to offer some choices to Polish travelers and it's our hope that more and more vegetarian options will start appearing in this large and beautiful country.

There's already quite a few restaurant choices for vegetarians, but just in case, here are three useful phrases that could save the day!

  • I am vegetarian - jestem vegetarianinem
  • I do not eat eggs - nie jem jajek
  • I do not eat dairy - nie jem nabialu

Hotels can now add promotions for special offers and events

VegTrip today released a new functionality for hotel managers to add promotions for their hotels. This will give hotel managers the ability to highlight special offers and time limited events at their property and for travelers to see where interesting things are happening.

Adding a promotion to your property is easy. Simply login, click on Hotel Owners and check the Manage my promotions box. It lists all the current promotions for your properties. Click Create new promotion.

On the next page, select the property from the list, then select a start and end date for the promotion. A promotion can not last for more than two months. The dates put here indicates when the promotion will be displayed on our website so you might want to set the begin date to be a bit in advance of your offer.

Click on Insert and you are done! Your promotion will now be randomly rotated on the first page of VegTrip.

A maximum of three promotions per hotel can be created at the same time so make sure to remove or update old promotions to be able to add new ones.

We will look at additional ways of displaying these promotions in the future and we plan to add a dedicated promotions page which shows all active promotions right now as well as adding promotions to the hotel page. We might also look at highlighting properties with promotions on the map.

If you have suggestions on how to take this further, don't hesitate to get in contact.
